Where does the training take place? We offer professional training either in your workplace or in training rooms mainly in Devon but also the rest of the Westcountry.

When are courses run? Please see the timetable above. Also we can run courses at times to suit you, be it evenings, weekends or even public holidays (may cost more!).

Is there quality control? And who are the trainers? Our training is intended to be both informative and, whenever possible, fun, but the learning outcome is the priority. All our trainers undergo regular updates and are delivering the latest first aid protocols as laid down by the European Resuscitation Council. The trainers are not only qualified in their fields and qualified to train but normally have hands on regular experience. They are usually local to your area. Some courses are moderated by the HSE or HABC and others are subject to internal Q.A.

How many first aiders do you need? There is no definitive answer. It will largely depend on your own risk assessment, depending on the nature of the work carried out and the number of employees. It should indicate the number of appointed persons or first aiders required in your own workplace. (See the free leaflet “Basic advice on first aid at work”, obtainable from the HSE or on its' website http://www.hse.gov.uk/first-aid )

Does my employee need to do any training to be a first aider? Yes - If you have identified that your work place needs first aiders, they must have completed a first aid at work course provided by an HSE approved training organisation. Emergency First Aid in the Workplace training is less formal but must be via a HSE approved centre.
